So, totally forgot that Saturdays are Denny's days at home. Kind of bizarre--you always just get used to the sector of the world you're in, and forget that life is still going on in that world you left. It's as if, while you're gone, everything should be static and stable.

Watched Trekkies last night at the film festival. I know I'm an absurdist fan girl of many things, from Orwell to Persona, but watching people who... well, who wear their Starfleet uniforms to jury trials and dress their poodles as Vulcans... that's always ludicrous and vastly entertaining. I did enjoy that they included the president of the Kirk/Spock slash fan club--considering them ladies were (oddly enough) the kicker for our entire phenomeon. Not saying it wouldn't have happened anyway, and that women weren't already looking at male-produced gay pornography, but you know how it is. They made the friggin' term. One of the guys in it--a fifteen-year-old trekkie of questionable intellect--was vastly amusing for several reasons. One was that he mispronounced many words. The other was that he was just like Arthur Stewart (Christian Bale's character) of Velvet Goldmine. He was such a hilarious tool! Best part ever--a friend called when he was being interviewed, and he said "Peter, this is the WORST time you could call!" in the bitchfightiest voice.

I also saw Strangers on a Train in the lounge last night. Excellent movie. I, like most of the ignorant masses, had only seen The Birds and Psycho out of Hitchcock's films, and seeing Strangers on a Train was a lovely experience. I recommend it to any uncultured cretin.

Sorry if this entry is all blaargh. I'm sort of disjointed, what with being up all night and not having enough coffee.

Final news--Instant Wonton soup is better than you think, but still pretty damn nasty.
