Totally favorite Oscar moment: finding out that Danny Elfman was so convinced he wouldn't win, he didn't even show up. Let's remember his immortal words: "Even if they created a category for best Danny Elfman score, they'd still find a reason not to nominate me."

P.S. LotR--good movie, but not warranting that much; Johnny Depp = nominated for one of his (and I mean this in the best of ways--it was a great swishy role, but he's been in so many great films. Unfortunately, many were directed by Tim. And therefore do not exist) lesser roles, but nice seeing him there (and it was probably about time Penn got one); Finding Nemo winning animated = crap; the worst song in the best song category winning = not too surprising; Academy realizing Errol Morris is in the world = totally stunning. I haven't even seen Fog of War yet, but if his other films are any indication (in particular, Mr. Death) it certainly deserved the recognition.
